🌸 When You Feel Lost About Your Purpose
Hey friend,
If you’ve ever felt unsure about your purpose, or wondered why “good jobs” and “checking the boxes” still leave you empty, you are not alone. Many believers wrestle with the quiet ache of there must be more. That tug is real, and it’s sacred. It’s the Holy Spirit drawing you into a deeper life with God… one rooted in His Kingdom, not the world’s expectations.
Romans 14:17 reminds us that God’s Kingdom isn’t built on striving or achievement—it’s built on righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. When those things feel missing, we start searching. And sometimes, that search leads us straight into our calling.
🌿 Created With Purpose: What Scripture Says
From the very beginning, God wired purpose into us.
📖 “So God created human beings in His own image.” – Genesis 1:27 (NLT)
This means you were designed with creativity, capacity, and divine intention.
In Genesis 1:28, God commands us to be fruitful. In Hebrew, the word “peru” doesn’t only mean producing something, it means creating something that carries the potential to multiply and bless generations. Your obedience today can leave ripples of blessing tomorrow.
Then Jesus deepens this truth in John 15, reminding us that fruitfulness isn’t something we strive for—it comes from staying connected to Him:
📖 “For apart from Me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5 (NLT)
Purpose flows from connection.
🌼 My Story: When Purpose Found Me
For years, I held good jobs.
Safe jobs.
Respectable jobs.
And yet… something always felt missing. A quiet inadequacy followed me into every season. It wasn’t until my early 50s that I realized the longing wasn’t failure, it was calling. God wasn’t pulling me away from responsibility… He was pulling me into alignment.
When I began reading Scripture through Kingdom eyes, especially John 15, the shift began.
Instead of chasing approval, I leaned into His voice.
Instead of striving, I started abiding.
Instead of wondering, I began writing.
That’s where my calling awakened: creating, encouraging, teaching, and pointing others to Jesus.
Friend, if He did that for me in my fifties, He can do it for you right where you are.
🌊 How to Walk in God’s Purpose (Right Now)
If you’re searching for clarity, here’s where to begin:
Remain connected to Jesus daily—your fruit comes from Him.
Pay attention to the Holy Spirit’s gentle tug—He often speaks through desire, restlessness, or compassion.
Use what’s already in your hands—your gifts, skills, passions, and lived experiences matter.
Seek first His Kingdom—Matthew 6:33 promises that when we put Him first, everything else falls into place.
Even the smallest act of obedience impacts the Kingdom. Every encouraging word… every prayer… every moment you use your gifts—it all multiplies.
💛 A Prayer for Your Journey
Lord Jesus,
Help me stay connected to You, the true Vine. Open my eyes to see the gifts You’ve placed within me. Teach me to use them to serve, bless, and build Your Kingdom. May my life bear fruit that brings You glory and touches generations. Align my desires with Your purpose and make my steps clear. Amen.
🌟 Keep Growing
Thank you for spending this moment with me.
