A Name We Know… But Do We Know Him?
You’ve heard the name—Jesus.
History books acknowledge Him, churches bear His name, and holiday traditions are built around His story. But who is Jesus… really?
So many people see Him as a moral teacher, a prophet, a historical figure with noble ideas. But Jesus never claimed to be just a teacher. He said things that stirred hearts, challenged norms, and ultimately cost Him His life.
He touched lepers, wept with grieving families, and welcomed those religion had cast aside. He ate with sinners and dignitaries alike.
He healed, forgave, and spoke with authority that left crowds speechless.
But the most astonishing thing Jesus ever said was this:
“The Father and I are one.” – John 10:30
“Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” – John 14:9
These aren’t the words of a wise man or philosopher.
They’re claims of divinity.
As C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity:
“Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse.”
If Jesus was lying, He was not good.
If He was deluded, He was not wise.
But if He told the truth—then He is Lord.
And His resurrection backs it up.
📜 Fulfilled Prophecy, Real History, Unshakable Truth
Jesus fulfilled over 300 Messianic prophecies written centuries before His birth:
Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14 → Matthew 1:22–23)
Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2 → Luke 2:4–7)
Pierced for our sins (Isaiah 53:5 → John 19:34–37)
Cast lots for His clothing (Psalm 22:18 → John 19:23–24)
Raised from the dead on the third day (Hosea 6:2 → Luke 24:6–7)
These are not random coincidences.
They are divine fingerprints written across the pages of time.
Even non-Christian historians from the ancient world acknowledged His existence and death:
Tacitus wrote of Christ's execution under Pontius Pilate.
Josephus, a Jewish historian, documented Jesus' crucifixion.
Pliny the Younger noted early Christians worshipping Him as God.
💔 A Savior Worth Dying For
His followers didn’t just preach Jesus' message—they died for it.
They saw Him risen. They touched His wounds. They heard His voice again. And they gave everything to tell the world, even their lives.
Peter was crucified upside down.
Thomas was speared in India.
James was beheaded.
Andrew was bound to a cross.
No one willingly dies for what they know is a lie.
Their sacrifice points to one unshakable truth:
Jesus is exactly who He said He is.
✨ His Names Reveal His Nature
Throughout Scripture, Jesus is called by names that reveal His character and mission:
Messiah, Emmanuel, Prince of Peace, Lamb of God, Bread of Life, Light of the World, Savior, Good Shepherd, Alpha and Omega…
Each name opens a window into who He is—our hope, healer, and King.
💛 From Faithful Pen: A Glimpse Into My Heart
When I chose to walk away from religion and follow Jesus, everything changed.
I wasn’t chasing rules anymore—I was chasing relationship.
And what I found was a never-ending well of life.
It’s like reading a biography that never stops unfolding. Every time I return to His Word, Jesus reveals something new. Deeper. Fuller. More alive.
But what captivates me most is this:
If Jesus—so full of kindness, truth, power, and compassion—was only a glimpse of the Father…
What must it be like to stand before the fullness of God’s glory one day?
That thought leaves me breathless.
It doesn’t make me afraid. It makes me long.
It keeps me searching, wondering, and falling more in love with Him every day.
The mystery of Jesus—both God and man—frees me.
It fills me with awe. And it keeps me walking forward, not to earn His love, but because I’ve tasted it.
And I never want to let go.
💭 Reflection
Take a deep breath.
Let this question settle in your soul:
Who is Jesus to you?
What if everything He said…
Every miracle…
Every word of love, correction, and compassion…
Was true?
Would you follow Him?
🙏 Prayer to Know Him
Jesus, I want to know You—not just as a name or a symbol, but as the living Savior.
Help me see You clearly. Let my heart recognize You for who You truly are—both fully God and fully man. I want to walk with you, learn from you, and fully experience the depth of Your love. Amen.
✝️ Prayer of Salvation
Jesus, I believe You are who You say You are.
I confess my need for You.
Forgive me for going my own way.
I accept You as my Lord and Savior.
Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me into truth.
